The Retirement Benefits Administrator manages the daily operations of Martignetti Companies retirement plans, overseeing multiple active qualified and non-qualified benefits plans. This role supports employees, retirees, and beneficiaries, ensuring all retirement communications are clear and effective. The administrator also educates employees on their retirement benefits and works closely with vendors to ensure compliance with ERISA and other regulations. Additionally, the role involves providing information and reports for plan benefit calculations, valuations, and audits, while serving as point contact for annual retirement plan audits and testing.

Martignetti Companies is the leading distributor of wine, beer, and spirits in New England. From our Taunton Office, our Human Resources team supports approximately 1,700 employees at peak times. Our employees are in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Connecticut.

This position is eligible to participate in our hybrid work schedule, which includes working in the Taunton office three days per week and remotely two days per week.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee the daily administration and maintenance of Martignetti's defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans.
  • Create and distribute communications to assist employees with enrollment and answer questions related to retirement programs.
  • Facilitate group presentations and/or individual meetings to educate employees on retirement benefits.
  • Address inquiries and resolve employee issues related to defined contribution plans.
  • Ensure retirement plans are administered in compliance with plan provisions and government regulations, coordinating necessary changes with vendors and record keepers.
  • Distribute relevant information and documentation to plan participants and beneficiaries.
  • Maintain accurate records, develop and maintain retirement plan reports, and generate ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Payroll, HR, and Finance.
  • Manage retirement-related projects such as requests for proposals (RFPs), implementations, and special retirement programs as needed.
Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly explain retirement plan options in easy-to-understand terms
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Knowledge of regulations, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL, related to defined contribution and defined benefit plans

Education/Training/Experience

  • Bachelor s Degree required
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in benefits, 401(k), and/or pension administration
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools such as Word and PowerPoint
