We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Truss Designer to join our team in the Boston, MA area. As a Truss Designer, you will play a pivotal role in our multifamily construction projects, contributing to the design and engineering of truss systems for residential buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize specialized software to design truss systems based on project specifications and engineering standards.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure accurate and efficient truss designs.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop comprehensive truss layouts.
- Perform structural calculations and analysis to verify the integrity and performance of truss designs.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams to facilitate the fabrication of truss components.
- Review and analyze project requirements, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost-efficiency.
- Maintain thorough documentation of truss designs and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends, codes, and regulations related to truss design and construction.
Qualifications:
- Prefer a degree in CAD, Architectural, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in truss design, preferably in the multifamily residential construction sector.
- Proficiency in truss design software such as MiTek or Alpine is required.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and building codes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in design work.
- Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software is a plus.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in the Boston, MA area is advantageous.
