The following are the duties of this position at the GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

As an IT Specialist (College Graduate), you will:

  • Participate in the responsibilities of data loss prevention, insider threat cyber security training and awareness requirements.
  • Work with workforce development, software assurance, supply chain security and other major cyber security initiatives. Work with assuring the protection of networks, systems and applications by development and implementation for data protection strategies and policies.
  • Work with conduction analysis, providing assessments of knowing threats and vulnerabilities discovered and identify policy violations. Work with the Supply Chain Risk Management Program (SCRM).
  • Implement the requirements of the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), and all Federal laws, policies, and guidance pertaining to the Department's Information Assurance and Cyber Security Program. Work alongside the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and learn how to protect HUD's IT infrastructure to include taking proactive security measures, assessing risks, and responding to security breaches.
