As a Supervisory Transportation Operations Specialist, you will:

  • Incumbent serves as a Supervisory Transportation Operations Specialist overseeing the activation and operational reporting of NDRF/RRF ships.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures and the adoption of best practices related to ship operations in the NDRF/RRF.
  • Supervise subordinate personnel in the development of technical requirements, acquisition of goods and services, processing of invoices, and budget formulation.
  • Participate in the DOT-MARAD continuity of operations (COOP) program, including COOP drills and exercises.

The ideal candidate will have a background in marine transportation, preferably with experience sailing as a licensed Deck Officer on a USCG Merchant Mariner Credential. The candidate will have experience working with the Department of Defense and other government agencies. The candidate will have experience working with personnel of various backgrounds and levels of experience, standing watch on a regular basis, presenting information both orally and in writing, writing reports and evaluations, and working with standardized processes and process improvement techniques.
