As a Health Scientist (Extramural Research) you will:

  • Serve as the senior scientist responsible for the oversight of the scientific peer review of all research grants and cooperative agreements for National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC), National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substance and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR).
  • Recruit and provide top scientific and technical experts who offer independent and objective evaluation of scientific information related to grant and cooperative agreement applications and research and development contract proposals.
  • Establish and implement internal procedures to carry out the Extramural Research Program Office (ERPO's) responsibilities in the scientific peer review of grants and cooperative agreement applications for extramural research.
  • Serve as a senior adviser in formulating and administering plans and policies designed to meet critical program objectives.
