This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Orphaned Wells Program Office (OWPO), duty stationed in Denver, CO or Washington, DC or Location Negotiable.
The Orphaned Wells Program Office is responsible for implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law's $4.7 billion investment to plug, remediate, and restore orphaned wells and well sites nationwide. Through this historic investment to clean up legacy pollution sites, the Department is working tirelessly to ensure the effective, efficient, and accountable implementation of the orphaned wells program and striving to transform a legacy of environmental pollution into a legacy of environmental stewardship.
At the full performance level (GS-8) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, coordinate, and direct administrative functions within Orphaned Wells Program Office (OWPO).
- Provide the administrative support necessary in the Office, including time and attendance, records management, property inventory, acquisition and payment of office supplies and trainings, and supporting personnel actions.
- Receive, screen, and maintain a variety of files.
- Oversee the office filing system on all subjects within office, with emphasis on emails, documents, and correspondence.
- Post documents to electronic libraries and folders in a manner that assures access to official and appropriate current and historical records.
This position is being advertised as both location negotiable after selection and with a duty station of either Washington, DC or Denver, CO. If applying to "negotiable after selection", this means that your duty station will be based off your home address and you will be a full-time remote worker. If applying to a specific duty station, you may be allowed to telework a set number of day(s) per pay period, with supervisory approval".
Salary Range Information:
GS Base Rate
GS-08: $46,475 - $60,416 per annum
When selected, your salary will be set for the location in which you reside.
Denver, CO
GS-08: $60,362 - $78,468 per annum
Washington, DC
GS-08: $61,933 - $80,510 per annum
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
Travel:
You may be expected to travel for meetings, training, or site visits.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a typical office setting. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
