Amida is currently looking for a State and Local Sales Manager to support the Senior Director of Business Development in the identification, qualification, and successful closing of new business opportunities within state and local government agencies - with a specific focus on Medicaid programs, social services and the enterprise use of data, advanced analytics, and the application of AI/ML. The State and Local Sales Manager will develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets within state and local markets, and will work in collaboration with Amida teammates to establish strong relationships with key target client decision-makers.

The State and Local Sales Manager's roles and responsibilities will include:

Sales Execution:

  • Identify, develop, and successfully close state and local sales opportunities consistent with Amida's offerings and strategy
  • Establish and nurture relationships with industry partners and government officials
  • Analyze, develop, and continuously update state and local procurement forecasts to establish and maintain Amida's business development pipeline
  • Lead the capture process for state and local strategic opportunities and initiatives
  • Collaborate with Amida subject matter experts and our Centers of Excellence (COEs) to align emerging technologies and capabilities to state and local government trends and program requirements
  • Work closely with the Proposal Manager to ensure that all state and local procurement responses differentiate Amida's technical and organizational capabilities, supporting the development, writing, and submission of state and local RFIs, RFPs, and client demonstrations, to include:
    • Review of procurement documentation to understand response requirements
    • Collaboration with internal teams (e.g., technical, legal, finance)
    • Participation in color team reviews and proposal recovery initiatives to refine content in alignment with defined win themes and Amida differentiators

Market Knowledge:

  • Understand the challenges and opportunities faced by government agencies, particularly in the areas of healthcare/Medicaid, social services, data and analytics, and AI/ML
  • Stay informed about state and local industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies that will impact government sectors - especially in the healthcare arena

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field

Required Experience:

  • General Experience:
    • Five or more years of government sales experience that includes working with state healthcare agencies and social services agencies
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Proven ability to meet existing and new clients where they are in their journey to address their constituents' goals and objectives
    • Experience developing and presenting effective, customized client meeting materials and presentations
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge:
    • Deep understanding of state and local government procurement processes
    • Knowledge of healthcare IT systems, electronic health records (EHR), and health information exchanges (HIE)
    • Experience monitoring and reviewing Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) memos, waivers, and policy updates to leverage funding opportunities for existing and new engagements
    • Experience integrating relevant CMS and state-mandated requirements into sales strategies, ensuring all offerings are compliant with the latest regulations

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of how to sell data analytics, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools
  • Ability to conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify new opportunities and partnerships
  • Technical proficiency with SharePoint, Salesforce, and sales analytics tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address client challenges and develop tailored solutions
  • Aptitude and interest gaining knowledge of Amida solutions and value propositions
  • Commitment to meet Company-defined quality standards in all proposal, technical writing, and editing efforts

Preferred Skills:

  • Deep understanding of how data, analytics, and workflow tools can support CMS-mandated compliance requirements, Medicaid and MMIS solutions, benefits determination and adjudication regulations, and other state healthcare-related programs
  • Experience identifying and responding to Medicaid and Healthcare Management opportunities, including 1115 Pilot or integrated social services initiatives
