Job Title: AWS Cloud DBA / AWS Aurora PostgreSQL DBA
Location: Maryland (100% Onsite- from day 1 )
Interview Type: FTF Interview / In-Person Interivew
- Collaborate with application developers to design and optimize database structures for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans to protect critical data.
- Implement AWS cloud solutions that effectively utilize PostgreSQL databases.
- Manage AWS resources related to PostgreSQL databases, such as EC2 instances, RDS instances, and S3 storage.
- Implement database scaling and high availability strategies in the AWS cloud environment.
- Automate database tasks using AWS services like AWS Lambda, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS RDS/Aurora.
- Plan and execute database migration projects, including schema migration, data migration, and application migration.
- Develop and implement migration strategies to minimize downtime and ensure data consistency.
- Plan & perform database upgrades, applying patches, and ensuring compatibility with new versions of PostgreSQL and AWS services.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of migrated databases to ensure data integrity and optimal performance.
Skills Required:
- 12+ years of experience in Database
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator .
- In-depth knowledge of database management systems, primarily AWS PostgreSQL , SQL and MongoDB.
- Familiarity with database design principles, data normalization, and indexing techniques.
- Understanding of data security and access control principles.
- Must have great experience in AWS RDS.
- Knowledge of cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, SCT, and DMS).
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL replication, high availability, and disaster recovery mechanisms in AWS Cloud environment.
- Experience with PostgreSQL monitoring and performance tuning tools.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with writing complex queries and stored procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to troubleshoot database-related issues.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
