Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Test & Verification Engineer to join our growing team!

In this role you will get to support development of an exciting new space and ground capability for the United States Space Force. Our approach to systems engineering for this program embraces model-based systems engineering (MBSE), where a single digital model serves as the Authoritative Source of Truth (ASOT) for all vendors across the entire development lifecycle. Engineering documentation such as requirements, interface control documents, verification plans, architecture diagrams, and service implementation details are generated from this centralized model repository. The model integrates with spacecraft vendor models, to ensure end-to-end interoperability and effective communication across all stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role that requires on-site system testing at the BGIF and Boulder area up to 5 days a week during concentrated test windows -- Non-testing periods can support remote work/WFH. Up to 10% out of area travel may be required.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Support the development and Test of the Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) Track Custody (MTC) ground environment.
  • Serve as a Test and Verification Engineer for the MTC program, responsible for ensuring products and capabilities are completely verified and integrated into the system baseline.
  • Support MTC ground segment systems engineering to include requirements derivation, mapping to architecture, high-level design and detail design and capturing in design configuration-controlled artifacts and documentation.
  • Provide program support to include, but not limited to inputs for Program documentation in support of a Middle Tier of Acquisition (ex. System Engineering Plan (SEP), Test Engineering Management Plan (TEMP), Program Protection Plan (PPP), Lifecycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP)).
  • Coordinate with contractors and the SSC Program Office (PO) for the design and the Test of MTC Ground capabilities at the Boulder Ground Innovation Facility (BGIF). Those capabilities include user/operator workspaces and collaboration areas, data center resources and space, network and communications, cybersecurity, shared infrastructure services, and standard operating procedures and tenant support activities.
  • Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
  • Works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions that are highly creative.
  • Works with minimal/limited consultative direction toward predetermined long-range plans and objectives.
  • Provides advice and counsel to the organization in area of expertise.
  • Applies experience toward establishing long-range plans and objectives.
  • Designs, researches and develops highly advanced applications which contribute to new product/business opportunities.
  • Participates in efforts to capture new business through technical work and capability briefings.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Clearance, which requires ship
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline, or additional years of relevant experience
  • Experience in modeling and simulation (M&S) and CAMEO systems modeler for those supporting M&S
  • Knowledge of system engineering tools and experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience in Space to Ground and Ground to Ground ICD development and maintenance
  • Experience in requirements derivation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Technical Interchange Meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to develop CONOPS and use-cases
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of High-Level Designs
  • Well versed in automated testing practices, procedure, and tools
  • Requires knowledge of one or more platforms and operating systems and of programming languages such as: C and C++
  • Scripting with Java/Python
  • Familiarity with Linux (RedHat)
  • Container orchestration (Kubernetes, docker compose or OpenShift)
  • Verification experience - Managing and selling off requirements through test/demonstration
  • Troubleshooting software deployments during integration.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What Desired Skills You Might Bring:
  • Active SECRET clearance with ability to obtain an TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to develop system architectures
  • Ability to lead special studies relevant to ground systems for spaceborne assets
  • Working knowledge of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) systems and architecture

Salary Range:
$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
