Position Summary

  • POSITION LOCATION: Senior Meal sites located throughout Lane County (Coburg, Cottage Grove, Creswell, Eugene, Florence, Junction City, Oakridge, Springfield, Veneta)
  • POSITION PURPOSE: The Site Coordinator (Substitute) is a member of the team of staff who creates a positive working environment for volunteers who assist with food service in the Cafe 60 and Meals on Wheels (MOW) delivery and contributes to a friendly companionable atmosphere for the participants and volunteers. Duties include: working with volunteers who deliver Meals on Wheels, who serve the Cafe 60 dining room participants, and who work in the kitchen; creating a welcoming atmosphere in the Cafe 60 dining room; maintaining required client records and depositing donations; preparing food orders and delivery instructions; promoting participation of new people; monitoring food quality, assisting food service staff and volunteers in portioning food and clean up; delivering meals in an emergency and assisting other staff and volunteers as needed.

NOTE: This position is temporary, part time and will work up to 29 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Schedule varies based on coverage need, to cover absences or provide additional support. This position requires ability to attend paid meetings and training sessions in and around Eugene, OR outside regular work hours.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • OR any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Experience working with older adults, people with disabilities, those with limited resources, and volunteers.
  • Experience working with basic software applications, including Excel, and word processing.
  • Must pass a background check
  • Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Experience with volunteer management
