Essential Functions

  • Learn the product development process and apply design efforts on your own project.
  • Document design and testing as appropriate on each phase of the project.
  • Provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers on existing projects.
  • Use knowledge and skills in the engineering discipline.
  • Performs technical work that does not require previous experience.
  • Works independently, as well as with a team.
  • Complete summer end internship presentation.
  • Demonstrated the guiding principles of Aerostar.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to support needs of Aerostar.
  • May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years towards a bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel is required.
  • Hands on experience in manufacturing, testing, and/or lab settings are highly desired.
  • Familiarity with one or more of SolidWorks, Matlab, or Python desired.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, without close supervision.
  • Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Capacity to be flexible and multitask.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.

Physical Requirements: Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. Position may occasionally require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
