Job Description:

Job Title: Acquisition Specialist
Location: Remote (s living in the United States)
Contract: 6 month +
Responsibilities

Assist the customer's acquisition management program in assuring compliance with federal legislation and policies, aligning legislation and policies with the strategic goals and helping the program implement approaches to modernize and improve the acquisition environment

Help develop key program and contract artifacts including the Strategic Plan and Roadmap, Data and Dashboard requirements and process improvement recommendations

Review and analyze legislation and policies to determine impacts to existing state operations

Develop business and data requirements for dashboarding efforts

Apply expertise in acquisitions processes and data to develop requirements, working with other team members as necessary to ensure completeness and accuracy of requirements

Facilitate large group working sessions

Plan working sessions with executive leadership, plan agendas, implement facilitation methodologies and techniques, and session wrap-up documentation and tracking

Conduct process analysis and process improvement activities

Develop and decompose processes into finite, discrete tasks aligned to process step owners

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare field

Minimum of three (3) years of experience, with specific experience performing strategic and operations planning activities

Proven experience with government acquisition lifecycle management, procurement processes and practices, and government contract management, with a strong preference for VA-specific acquisitions experience.

Experience applying strong analytical skills to creatively solve problems and overcome challenges.

Strong ability to present complex ideas and plans into presentation materials.

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time

Occasional travel and overtime may be required

Required Clearances and Screenings

The ability to pass a government Moderate Background Investigation (MBI)
