LockNet is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to join our team! This position is responsible for overseeing daily activities and the workflow of the Shipping Team and assisting the Manager with the strategic planning and organization of the department. This position actively monitors the picking/packing/staging of all customer orders, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are staged and shipped in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements and contributing to smooth and consistent operations.

The Shipping Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining safe work practices throughout the warehouse and leading by example in alignment with LockNet's Guiding Principles.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with balancing the workload of the team as needed and maintaining a personnel structure and staffing level to maintain accurate, effective, and efficient operations.
  • Monitoring team interactions and performance, recognizing and troubleshooting workflow and/or system issues, and resolving those through collaboration with Manager.
  • Participating in the interview process and providing feedback for decisions on potential candidates.
  • Assisting in new hire onboarding and training, as well as ongoing and cross training team members through coordinating with Seniors and Mgmt. on executing training plans (as well as doing some training themselves as needed or assigned).
  • Conducting 1:1's through utilizing software, reports, and/or analytics to track metrics and anticipate and solve problems, as well as coaching on physical and behavioral improvements and referring issues or misalignments to the Manager and assisting in the disciplinary process as assigned.
  • Assisting Inventory Control Manager with development of new or updated processes, and coordinating the training on company processes, productivity, and compliance training.
  • Assisting in the communication and training of employees in company and department changes, per the direction of the Manager and/or Leadership.
  • Providing the necessary evaluation of needs and then working to remove obstacles (training, staffing, tools/resources, etc.) to set their employees up for success.
  • Ensuring, through leading by example and holding others accountable, that safe work practices, policies, Guiding Principles, and compliance matters are followed.
  • Assisting with conducting annual performance reviews and performance assessments.
  • Assisting in the processing of weekly payroll, approving PTO, requests, and making time clock adjustments.
  • Working to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with other leaders, especially those who are cross-functional stakeholders in the department's processes.
  • Ensuring the Shipping Group's tactical tasks below are getting done, evaluating the quality and speed of the tasks being completed, and then also have a backup or fill in as necessary:
  • Inspecting and processing outbound orders.
  • Palletizing door frames to prevent damage during shipping process.
  • Pulling, staging, and packing orders to fulfill daily shipment requirements.
  • Assembling windows, frame pallets, and crates for upcoming shipments.
  • Loading and unloading freight carrier shipments according to safety standards.
  • Inspecting door, hardware, and frame parts prior to shipment.
  • Communicating with Shipping Team Lead and Shipping Subject Matter Expert (SSME) to ensure synchronicity in job order completion.
  • Sorting and organizing outbound material within the warehouse manually or with the assistance of a forklift, as necessary.
  • Preparing and participating in yearly physical inventory.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in Shipping; Preferably experience in architectural door hardware industry but not required.
  • 3+ years' experience in Lead/Supervisory rolls/duties
  • Experience loading and unloading material with a forklift preferred, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient e-mail etiquette and phone skills.
