Job Description

The Divisional Program Manager (DPM) oversees all design projects for their assigned Division(s) acting as the NDC partner for their NMG counterpart(s). This role drives work streams from inception to execution by coordinating and communicating with all work groups and stakeholders, including executive leadership, internal teams, external vendors, brands, and consultants. The DPM is directly involved in the development, evolution, and execution of the planning process to support Divisional programs and projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support overall Company goals by assisting in enhancing department vision and strategies.
  • Support the business by providing a variety of specialized services and design support for assigned departments.
  • Develop strategies, processes, and project plans for initiatives from inception to delivery.
  • Prepare and quantify all order information, including updating specification and pricing in catalog and collections.
  • Review operating practices and procedures, determine whether improvements can be made and work to implement changes as appropriate.
  • Plan, facilitate, and/or execute projects, including owning entire larger impact programs or projects, as assigned.
  • Assist in the development of the program budget both annually and by project as needed.
  • Research and resolve project issues using appropriate resources.
  • Train co-workers and less experiences staff, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with peers and leaders to ensure project outcomes align with priorities and direction.
  • Oversee all aspects of interiors for assigned Division(s) including FFE, millwork, finishes, etc.
  • Supervise full line store onsite installations and department changes floor sets.
  • Show continual assessment, refinement, and evolution of all operational processes.
  • Work closely with project sponsor and cross-functional teams (Merchant and NDC Construction project managers, etc.) to plan scope of work, deliverables, budget, required resources, and timeline.
  • Communicate with Architectural partners to advise of any Remodel/New Store plan updates, casework layouts, or concept plan changes.
  • Create project scope documents to ensure the scope of work has been accurately captured.
  • Act as support for cross-functional teams to provide clear and concise updates for project timelines and budgets.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with support teams to alert the appropriate team members of any deliveries and installations.
  • Drive execution and delivery of project goals through alignment with all work groups
  • Organize and lead all internal and external resources required to deliver project initiatives
  • Monitor all work streams to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget and quality expectations.
  • Navigate decision channels within all groups
  • Communicate risks, document status and changes

  • Skilled in the visual, written, and verbal communication of design issues, project planning and management. Knowledge of architectural details and specifications.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities.
  • Ability to balance design with operational needs and budget objectives resulting in exceptional store environments.
  • Strong Organizational skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to focus and extract complex situations to find key insights and drive simple solutions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with multidisciplinary cross functional internal as well as external teams.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work within compressed timeframes.
  • Negotiation skills necessary.
  • Ability to balance business needs and project constraints with high standards in design quality
  • Ability to drive execution and deliver high results

QUALIFICATIONS:

Project Management or Program Management in retail or design organization with experience in architectural or interior planning, construction, vendor sourcing and product development (3-5 years) or minimum 3 years' experience in related roles in store design or visual merchandising at Nordstrom. Degree or diploma in architecture, interior design, visual merchandising, or related field will be an asset.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $92,000- $155,000 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
