The Operational Analytics Engineering Team designs, develops, and maintains data models and interactive dashboards. The data models power the interactive dashboards. The interactive dashboards enable Operations stakeholders to make strategic decisions and gain insights.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute analytics projects: Work autonomously with clear direction to deliver high-quality analytics solutions
  • Data modeling and ETL processes: Design, develop, and maintain data models and ETL processes to support analytics and reporting needs
  • Analytics architect: Apply understanding of the mechanics and user flow within a dashboard
  • SQL expertise: Utilize solid SQL skills to query, analyze, and manipulate data efficiently
  • Systems thinking: Foster a bias toward systems thinking, ensuring scalable and maintainable data solutions
  • Business communication: Demonstrate solid business communication skills (both written and verbal) daily, effectively and concisely conveying complex data insights to stakeholders
  • Knowledge sharing: Share learnings from your career and recent projects with teammates, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
  • Collaboration: Work closely with analysts, direct users, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven insights

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a similar role
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling and ETL processes
  • Solid understanding of systems thinking and its application in data engineering
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • Tableau Desktop certification
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Azure, Snowflake)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
