Description:

Agile Sr. Scrum Master - 1-year minimum contract. Mainly remote but must be available to be onsite if needed. Must be local to Central Ohio.

Position Summary

A Senior Scrum Master is a team leader in the agile development realm. They work on multiple projects using the Scrum framework, mentoring lower-level Scrum Masters, developing various product types, and removing impediments. Their role involves supporting the product owner, collaborating with the team, and leading by example

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of Agile execution, including story cards definition of readiness and done, and commitments to on-time delivery.

• Collaborate with the Product Owner to balance features and high-quality working software.

• Facilitate Release (Planning) Workshops.

• Educate the Agile Team (including the Product Owner) on agile requirements, backlog creation practices.

• Promote commonly accepted Agile practices.

• Keep the team focused on current Sprint goals (using Big Visible Charts and focused stand-ups)

• Promotes Test Automation

• Ensures no changes are made that would block the sprint Goal

• Coordinate among the Agile Team and monitor adherence to Agile practices

• Drive retrospective meetings across multiple audiences to identify potential future process improvements

• Lead multiple scrum teams

Qualifications

• Licensing or Certifications: PMP, CSM, CSPO, PSM, SPC

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Engineering, Business/Administration,

• 5 + years leading Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or lean teams.

• Experience in conflict resolution, facilitation, situational awareness, continual improvement, empowerment, increasing transparency, servant leadership, and understanding of Agile principles and practices.

1. Kanban, Scrum SAFe: Understand and apply principles to optimize workflow and visualize work items.

2. Handle conflicts within the team and facilitate productive discussions.

3. Stay attuned to team dynamics, project context, and external factors.

4. Foster a culture of learning and adaptability.

5. Encourage self-organization and autonomy within the team.

6. Promote openness and clear communication

7. Knowledge in using Jira and Confluence

8. The ability to leverage Agile metrics, including velocity and burndown charts, for tracking and presenting the team's progress.
