We are seeking an experienced Android Mobile Developer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Android development and a proven track record of delivering high-quality mobile solutions in a consulting environment. You will work closely with clients to understand their business needs, provide technical guidance, and build scalable, user-friendly Android applications. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product owners, and backend developers, to deliver cutting-edge mobile solutions that drive business success.

This position is mostly remote, though some clients or projects may require onsite work up to 3 days a week. Candidates must be located in one of the following regions: Atlanta, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Minneapolis, New York Area, or St. Louis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin, Java, and the latest Android SDKs.
  • Serve as a technical consultant, understanding client requirements and translating them into tailored Android solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications while adhering to project timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients on mobile best practices and solutions architecture.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs to improve application performance.
  • Participate in client-facing meetings to present technical solutions and updates.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency and client value.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards.
  • Work with APIs and third-party libraries to integrate backend services.
  • Stay up to date with Android development standards, guidelines, and emerging technologies.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Android development.
  • Experience with iOS development is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
  • Hands-on experience with Android Studio and Google development tools.
  • Proven experience in building and deploying applications on the Google Play Store.
  • Deep understanding of Android frameworks such as Jetpack, Room, and RecyclerView.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to backend services.
  • Experience with third-party libraries, API integrations, and version control (Git).
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, especially in client-facing scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience delivering customized solutions for clients in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Experience with modern architectural patterns such as MVVM or MVP.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices in a consulting environment.
  • Experience with UI/UX design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with Android accessibility standards and testing frameworks.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.
