Summary:

The Director, IT will be responsible for overseeing and managing the technical infrastructure, support and operations for HIE participants and internal teams. This position will be responsible for the smooth and efficient functioning of all technical systems and processes, and to drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness. The Director, IT will lead a team of technical professionals and collaborate with cross-functional departments to align technical operations with overall business objectives for participants and internal customers. The IT Director plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of an organization's technical infrastructure. The successful candidate possesses a high degree of both technical and business acumen and can effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience. By overseeing operations, leading teams, and implementing best practices, you will contribute to the success of the organization, its technological capabilities and customer loyalty/satisfaction.

This position is based in Phoenix Arizona, Grand Junction Colorado, or Denver Colorado. Our strategic flexibility allows for local work from home opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide backup to the VP of Infrastructure & Quality Assurance during absences
  • Lead and mentor technical staff consisting of database/systems administrators and desktop support personnel
  • Responsible for ensuring that Contexture s systems are secure, stable, scalable, and highly available
  • Subject matter expert (SME) for IT and business processing system, assisting with design and development of IT and business automations including all Contexture platforms
  • Manages and tracks all IT and infrastructure program components
  • Assists with IT and Infrastructure Vendor Management
  • Works closely with the Vice President of Infrastructure and Quality Assurance and the Vice President of Security on annual security audit and periodic system audits
  • Participates in and/or facilitates meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
  • Identifies and champions opportunities for process improvement and participates in or leads continual service improvement discussions and activities
  • Creates and publishes activity and KPI reports from internal Contexture systems
  • Escalation point for IT issues
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement security measures in collaboration with the Cyber Security team
  • Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable daily operation of systems and infrastructure
  • Responsible for the management of end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems within the HIE and Contexture platforms with vendor assistance (if applicable)
  • Ensure network, system, database, and security documentation is accurate and regularly updated
  • Stay current with Health Information Technology trends, system information, changes, and updates across platforms
  • Configure and install infrastructure support software, servers, routers, switches, security appliances, and other network devices including but not limited to wireless access devices and Storage Area Networks (SANs) with vendor assistance as applicable
  • Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Participate in the rotation for after-hours support
  • As applicable, after-hours work may be necessary to support deployments, changes, or major incident response
  • Provide training as needed for Contexture staff
  • Assist with systems administration as needed
  • Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of an information security program
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of network and systems administration and architecture, Microsoft 365 administration and office desktop software.

  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds network tools)

Education/Experience

Minimum of 8+ years of information technology experience, including experience managing technical teams. Bachelor s Degree with a concentration in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline, Master s Degree preferred.

The position may require ability to periodically drive to and from clients, conferences and / or events; and / or limited travel.

Physical Demands

The person in this position needs to frequently communicate and exchange information and move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a keyboard, monitor, calculator, copy / scanner machine, and printer. Frequently moves office and work-related material weighing up to 10 pounds; Occasionally moves office and work-related material weighing up to 30 pounds.
