Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Expeditor to join our team. As an Expeditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of materials and supplies for our organization. Your main responsibility will be to expedite the purchasing process by closely monitoring orders, coordinating with suppliers and internal departments, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Monitor and track all purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.

2. Coordinate with suppliers to obtain accurate and up-to-date information on order status, delivery dates, and any potential delays.

3. Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, customer service, operations, and logistics, to gather information on material requirements and expedite urgent requests.

4. Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve any issues or discrepancies in order fulfillment.

5. Regularly update the supply chain team and other stakeholders on the status of orders and any potential issues that may arise.

6. Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including order confirmations, delivery receipts, and invoices.

7. Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to the supply chain team to help improve future purchasing decisions.

8. Assist in negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure the best value for the organization.

9. Continuously improve procurement processes and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency enhancements.

10. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new suppliers to ensure a competitive advantage in the procurement process.

REQUIRED QUALITIFIACTIONS AND SKILLS

1. Associate degree or 1 year of Purchasing in a Manufacturing Environment preferred.

2. Proven experience as an Expeditor or in a similar procurement role.

3. Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices including knowledge of purchasing processes, including order placement, tracking, and delivery coordination.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel coupled with familiarity with procurement software and systems.

5. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

6. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

7. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record keeping, order tracking, and documentation.

8. Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially with the capacity to work well under pressure.

9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

10. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on market trends and supplier performance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift to 25 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
