Project Overview-
The Department of Taxation is looking for an experienced system administrator to aid in maintaining critical systems and assets, building solutions, and implementing new hardware and software for the Department of Taxation and Project MYNT, the modernization project of its unified tax system (UTS).? The system administrator will work directly under Project MYNT and report to the Technical Lead. The system administrator job duties will include working directly with the Project MYNT team and IT teams to build and maintain essential IT infrastructure for the modernization project.
Responsibilities:
- As a Systems Administrator, the responsibilities include:
- Responsible for monitoring, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
- Installation, patching, and/or upgrading computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Create and perform backups
- Monitor and deploy IIS site certificates and application certificates
- Troubleshoot technical issues, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
- Responsible for Active Directory administration to Microsoft's best practices
- Acts as a technical resource for infrastructure related initiatives.
- Gathers information for decision making through questioning and research.
- Understanding the AS-IS business platform and the processes that support the systems within the Department of Taxation.
- Understanding the Functional and Technical Requirements for the project.
- Organizing and attending various Department meetings.
- Review and preparation of content for internal publication and distribution.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of computer operating systems, software, and hardware
- Proven experience with OS-level scripting languages and automation
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office including Outlook
- Proficient in reading, writing, and proofreading.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Creativity, team player, and customer-oriented mindset
- Understanding, knowledge, and use of industry standard practices
- Agreement to follow IRS Pub 1075 Requirements
Please Note: Taxation works with Federal Taxpayer Information (FTI) and must follow IRS Publication 1075 requirements. In addition to the contract language, there are IRS notification and approval requirements that Taxation must follow depending on the relationship between Taxation, the contractor, sub-contractor, and individual.
