Minimum Qualifications
Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
Position Details
Position Purpose
Manage and coordinate all aspects of Meadow Brook Hall community event and program details to include budgets, entertainment, menus, linens, décor, valet, special orders, sets, etc. On -site management for all MBH events. In collaboration with the director of external relations set annual community events revenue goals. Grow and change events as needed to reach revenue goal. Manage and coordinate non-community events as needed. Supervise the Education Coordinator.

Position Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality event management, organizational/business management, recreation or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in special events, event creation, implementation and management.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
- Ability to manage a budget.
- Customer service experience with friendly communications skills with staff and the public are essential.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, as events require.
- Fund raising experience.
- Museum or cultural organization experience.
