Job Summary

The Senior Manager - Build Operations IDCS oversees the end-to-end management of Integration Data Center projects. This role requires a strategic leader with deep technical expertise, strong project management skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams. The IDCS operations departments manages rack, server, data, and kit integration, supporting IDCS's strategic direction and growth objectives.

This position reports to the Vice President of IDCS and is expected to perform duties at the SHI Piscataway Ridge Integration Center.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:
  • Lead and manage multiple integration data center build projects from inception to completion.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mid-course mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, facilities, security) to ensure project alignment.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management.
  • Maintain communication between the customer and sales, updating project management tools with correct dates.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality services ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of managers, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Manage rack and kit build teams, providing clear direction and setting priorities.
  • Ensure adequate resources for build teams to complete their projects.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Establish staff performance objectives and development goals. Develop and track KPIs, ensuring team performance aligns with organizational goals, KPIs and SLAs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines.
  • Provide technical leadership in the design and construction of data center infrastructure.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Engage in strategic business discussions, contributing insights that shape company policies.
  • Manage customer escalations.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational discipline through scalable and repeatable processes.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (advanced degrees/certifications preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in Integration Data Center Services or equivalent discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in management with responsibility for technical strategy and customer-facing activities.
  • 6+ years of experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure (electrical, mechanical, network systems).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven success in managing high-performing technical teams and delivering complex IT projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of SHI Tools and applications as they relate to the IDCS Business Unit
  • Experience in the Integration Data Center Services organization.


Unique Requirements

  • Position requires 10% travel.
  • Extended hours are required to complete some special projects.


Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $90,000 - $180,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
