We are in search of a Purchasing Specialist who can effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines. This role is based in Austin, Texas, and will require you to coordinate all aspects of project administration, manage vendor relationships, and source alternative products. This position will be on a contract to hire basis, offering an opportunity to transition into a more permanent role with us.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects and ensure they are ordered, tracked, documented, and completed in a timely manner.
  • Source alternative products and vet new vendors to ensure quality and value.
  • Handle the efficient and accurate performance of assigned administrative and purchasing functions.
  • Prepare and issue bid proposals, receive quotes, and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Track products with shipping agents for payment and delivery, managing the entire process from front end to back end.
  • Maintain accurate and timely transactions in the purchasing system.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely payment to suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain reports/metrics on purchase order progress.
  • Display independent thought on following up on critical issues and timelines.
  • Take on additional projects as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Accounting Functions to manage financial aspects related to purchasing.
  • Strong understanding of Buying Processes to ensure smooth procurement operations.
  • Excellent Communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Ability to manage and execute Project Management tasks related to purchasing.
  • Experience in managing Vendor Relationships to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Knowledge of Procurement Management to handle all aspects of procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with Hospitality to understand industry-specific purchasing needs.
