SENIOR SALES DIRECTOR - AMANDA UPRICHARD

Amanda Uprichard, a NYC-based female-owned contemporary fashion brand, is seeking a full-time Sales Director or VP of Sales to lead our sales team and drive business growth across both wholesale and direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels. We are based in the heart of the Garment District in NYC. Amanda Uprichard is sold on our website, as well as on leading contemporary retail platforms like Shopbop, Revolve, and in department and specialty stores nationwide.

This role is not hybrid and will require five days in the office.

OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets. This role will focus on expanding existing accounts, opening new retail opportunities, and driving the success of our DTC business. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships within the fashion industry and be highly skilled at developing and leading a high-performing sales team to ensure the brand’s continued growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies that drive revenue growth across both wholesale and DTC channels.

Lead and mentor the sales team, providing guidance and support to achieve team goals and individual performance metrics.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, including specialty stores, department stores, and major online retail platforms.

Identify new business opportunities and establish partnerships that align with the brand’s strategic goals.

Collaborate closely with the marketing and merchandising teams to align product availability and promotional campaigns with sales goals.

Monitor sales performance metrics, including sell-through rates, margins, and profitability, and adjust sales strategies as needed.

Develop seasonal sales forecasts in alignment with merchandise planning to ensure proper inventory levels.

Represent Amanda Uprichard at trade shows, fashion markets, and events to strengthen brand visibility and relationships with partners.

Present sales strategies, results, and forecasts to senior leadership to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

Utilize data-driven insights to identify market trends, optimize sales strategies, and drive business growth.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Proven track record of driving sales growth within the contemporary fashion industry, particularly in women’s apparel.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing sales team.

Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to secure favorable terms with retail partners.

Deep knowledge of the wholesale and retail landscape, including relationships with key buyers, specialty stores, and online platforms.

Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term growth objectives with short-term sales goals.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, and product development.

Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate sales strategies and results to internal and external stakeholders.

Excellent excel skills

Knowledge of apparel CRM/PLM systems. Apparel Magic knowledge a plus.

Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and market trends to inform decision-making.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.

15+ years of experience in sales management, preferably within the women’s contemporary fashion industry.

Established relationships with buyers and retail partners in the contemporary fashion space.

Proven experience managing sales teams and achieving aggressive growth targets in both wholesale and DTC channels.
