Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our Fortune 100 client's team who is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the companys CI/CD platform. This team plays a crucial role in providing standardized application development solutions, including source code management, artifact management, and CI/CD pipelines, to our developer teams while adhering to the companys architectural and security best practices.

Team & Organizational Fit:

As part of the CI/CD Platform Engineering team, you will work closely with other engineers, developers, and product management to maintain the health and functionality of the CI/CD platform. Your work will directly support our ability to deliver software efficiently and securely across various environments. This team is responsible for implementing and managing tools that are central to application development and deployment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and upgrade CI/CD platform tooling through regular updates and deployments.
  • Create and update virtual machine and container images to ensure standardized deployments across environments.
  • Use automation tools like Terraform and Ansible to deploy services in both public cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and communicate changes, following operational and change management practices.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the configuration and deployment processes, focusing on reliability, security, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.

Technical Skills:

Must Have:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • CI/CD Pipelines (GitLab CI preferred)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Linux and command-line interface (CLI)
  • Docker/containerization experience
  • Cloud experience (AWS or other public cloud platforms)
  • Automation experience (Terraform more important than Ansible)
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies

Nice to Have:

  • AWS Certification
  • Experience with GitLab and JFrog Artifactory
  • Experience with Python scripting
  • Familiarity with Ansible (Tower)
  • Basic cloud networking concepts and application monitoring practices

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience supporting production systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience administering CI/CD tools such as GitLab and Artifactory.
  • Experience using Git for source code management.
  • Experience with Python and Bash scripting.
  • Familiarity with Docker for building and running containers.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to take initiative and learn in a fast-paced environment.

Scope of Work:

  • Work with a team of 7 engineers focused on improving platform performance, deploying patches, and implementing IaC.
  • Maintain and deploy updates for Linux, GitLab, and Artifactory.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the CI/CD pipelines by troubleshooting issues and deploying new versions.
