Role Summary
As a key leader within Cigna's PEACE Shared Services team, you will drive the development, enhancement, and maintenance of unified intake systems, non-production remediation management processes, and engineering solutions. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions that optimize our internal processes and support Cigna's overarching security goals.

This position requires a strategic approach to engineering, process ownership, and operational management, ensuring that all solutions align with industry best practices and adhere to Cigna's security standards. You will lead initiatives that enhance efficiency, improve team bandwidth, and support our Digital First strategy through automated, secure, and efficient solutions.

Responsibilities
You will engineer and maintain intake systems on chosen platforms, ensuring scalability and reliability, while continuously improving the intake process for handling enhancements and maintenance requests. Additionally, you will manage operational triage, routing requests to the appropriate teams for timely and efficient response. This role involves developing, deploying, and maintaining developer reporting mechanisms for non-production environments and leading efforts to drive remediation, reducing non-production findings. You will oversee operations focused on burn-down of non-production security vulnerabilities and improvements.

In the engineering and automation domain, you will design, test, deploy, and maintain solutions that enhance bandwidth and efficiency across teams. You will partner with internal teams to embed security and compliance into workflows, proactively identifying opportunities for automation to streamline processes and reduce manual workloads. Furthermore, you will provide continuous input to leaders within CISO and Digital Product teams, ensuring alignment on security goals and initiatives.

As a leader, you will spearhead key initiatives aimed at improving the overall security posture for Cigna/Evernorth, driving efforts that contribute to a more secure and resilient digital environment. Additionally, you will support business line mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture activities in line with the Shared Services playbook, designed to minimize change risk and ensure a smooth transition of security processes. As part of a dynamic role, you will take on additional responsibilities to expand and enhance the PEACE Shared Services team's capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven track record of successfully influencing and leading peer and matrix teams where direct and in-direct reporting relationships exist. Strong leadership qualities and business acumen to deal with all levels of the organization.
  • Minimum 10+ years of Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related risk management experience, with a focus on automation, engineering solutions, and process optimization.
  • Hands-on expertise in implementing and managing security frameworks, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001/27002, and PCI-DSS.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining intake systems and reporting mechanisms for large-scale, enterprise environments.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into business solutions, collaborating across teams to align engineering solutions with organizational goals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage and drive multiple priorities, balancing short-term tasks with long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Governance, Risk, and Compliance tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Archer, Brinqa, Salesforce) and experience within the Healthcare, Insurance or Financial Services industries is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable.

  • Ability to develop tools, training, and processes to educate teams on security standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience with cloud platforms, automation tools, and application security practices.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work closely with security, technology, and business teams to align on initiatives and drive shared outcomes.
  • Experience with Agile and DevSecOps practices, with a focus on embedding security within the development lifecycle (Shift Left).
  • Proactive and adaptable in a dynamic environment, constantly seeking to improve processes and deliver secure, efficient solutions.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 152,000 - 253,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan and long term incentive plan.
