The Technical Operations Manager oversees all operational teams, including Networking, Hardware Fulfilment and Support, Technical Project Management, and Research & Development. The main duties of this role include implementing best practice strategies to improve productivity and efficiency throughout each sub-department while maintaining a synergistic flow within all departments. A Technical Operations Manager possesses proven leadership and coaching skills, is a creative problem-solver, and makes sound economic decisions that foster company growth. This position is ultimately responsible for maintaining and increasing the overall efficiency of clients Media.

Responsibilities:

  • Long-term planning to create initiatives that further client's overall goals by actively pursuing strategic and operational objectives while proactively pivoting based on marketing and industry trends.

  • Coordinating different teams to foster a collaborative atmosphere and provide cross-team learning opportunities.

  • Assess and analyze departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits, while ensuring operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.

  • Develop tools that manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, reduce errors, and deliver excellent customer experience by reducing operational delays and areas of frustration.

  • Maintain timely communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization and to communicate with executive management about shifting company priorities and projects.

  • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization's internal capacity while tracking staffing requirements and hiring needs.

  • Oversee all deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities for all the operational environments, which include private and public cloud infrastructure.

  • Facilitate hardware orders and deployments while maintaining inventory, fulfilment warehouse, and freight shipments.

  • Act as a hardware expert during client meetings and assist the Sales Department identify the best hardware to accomplish client objectives.

  • Assist in coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities with customer stakeholders.

  • Manage the research and development process, identify hardware and software options, perform testing, and document findings. Mentor staff and assist in answering recommended hardware and software questions as needed as well as properly train support staff on all hardware and software solutions used by the company.

  • Monitor staff productivity using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), provide coaching, and address performance issues as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in program management, business or public administration, technical management, information systems, engineering, or related fields.

  • 5+ years of operations management and mid-level leadership experience, with a SaaS or IT company is preferred.

  • 3+ years of recent overall project management experience, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate.

  • A thorough understanding of financial and budgeting processes and principles.

  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Salesforce, TeamViewer or other remote management tool, Jira, and AWS.
