Civil Engineering Designer

Job Summary

Bohannan Huston is currently seeking a full-time experienced Civil Engineering Designer to join our Engineering Group in our Las Cruces, NM office.

As a Civil Engineering Designer, you would be involved in numerous tasks that would include utilizing your AutoCAD Civil 3D software experience to support design engineering teams on building site and infrastructure projects that can involve roadways; water and wastewater utility infrastructure; site development construction plans. Assist engineers with project material quantities for cost purposes. Job duties will also include field work to involve site data acquisition and finished project as-built verification.

WHO YOU ARE

• You have graduated with a high school diploma or Equivalent plus technical school or 2-year Associates degree.
• You have at least 5+ years minimum experience.
• You understand the National CAD Standards and Standard Civil Engineering Plan Production.
• You understand design survey coordinate systems and know how to integrate control layouts, field survey data, and GIS data.
• You are a self-starter with basic guidance from design engineers on construction plan production and can move project design elements forward on your own.
• You are fluent in AutoCAD Civil 3D software to produce construction plans, including the design of water, sanitary sewer and storm drainpipe networks (pressure and gravity), alignments and plan & profiles, roadway alignments, corridors and grading, and site development grading and drainage plan production.
• Preferably also fluent in ArcGIS for geomatic database development and data sharing or distribution.
