Position Summary

Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with research and teaching expertise in the area of cell and molecular biology to start in August 2025. A Ph.D. in biology is required by August 2025, and post-doctoral research experience in the field is preferred. Demonstrated success or evidence of potential to excel in teaching and advising undergraduates is essential, as is ongoing scholarly productivity and institutional service. Evidence of a strong commitment to pedagogies that foster diversity and inclusion is required. Teaching duties will include courses at the introductory and upper-level, and preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach animal physiology and/or developmental biology. Teaching may also include the first-year seminar and non-majors' biology courses as needed. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a compelling research program accessible to undergraduate student participation and collaboration. Research on animal models is preferred, as is research that takes advantage of the well-supported research facilities currently provided in the Natural Sciences Center.
