We are seeking a Paint Manager with a strong background in managing teams and high-volume scenic projects. The Paint Manager will oversee all painting operations, ensuring quality control, adherence to timelines, and the seamless execution of projects. This role is ideal for a highly experienced individual with excellent leadership and communication skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The Job:
The Paint Manager will work in a dynamic and fast-paced production environment, with occasional need for extended hours or weekends to meet deadlines. Our Paint Managers primarily work in an indoor environment dedicated to painting and finishing, with controlled conditions for optimal results. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as goggles, masks, gloves, and protective clothing are required to ensure safety and minimize exposure to potentially hazardous materials.
Physical Demands: As a Paint Manager, you will be required to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift heavy objects regularly. You will also need to wear protective gear such as masks and gloves to protect yourself from hazardous chemicals and fumes. Some work will be performed in environments with elevated temperatures, especially in enclosed spaces or during peak summer months.

The Job:
- Manage the paint department, including supervising a team of painters, providing guidance, and ensuring that deadlines and project specifications are met.
- Lead the painting process for scenic elements, maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- Develop and maintain schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, and designers to ensure accurate interpretation and execution of designs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, enforcing all safety protocols and ensuring proper use of equipment.
- Address and resolve any conflicts or challenges within the team to maintain a positive work atmosphere.
- Manage paint inventory, ensure proper stock levels, and coordinate with vendors for necessary supplies.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections and provide feedback to the team to uphold the highest standards of workmanship.
- Troubleshoot issues related to materials, techniques, and schedules as they arise.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of experience managing a paint or scenic department, ideally within the themed entertainment or exhibit production industry.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing diverse teams and personalities.
- Expert-level knowledge of various paint applications, materials, and techniques, including the ability to lead hands-on when necessary.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, senior management, and clients.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and effectively.
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as standing for extended periods, lifting equipment, and working at heights.
- Flexible to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production deadlines.
