SCOPE OF WORK | The Senior Test Analyst (Contractor) shall have extensive knowledge and experience of, User Acceptance Testing, including testing methodologies and test management for a pension, financial or similar system. The Senior Test Analysts will perform various test activities related to the current Pension Solution project to implement a new pension administration system. The Senior Test Analysts will be responsible for supporting the Pension Solution project testing team with: - Effective partnering with key IT/Technology Services and business communities to assist with test case development and ensure effective use of methodologies and communicate test strategies, test results and performance
- Management of test planning, test scheduling, end-to-end testing, date-shifting coordination and expertise in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and supporting end user testing
- Participation in defect management including monitoring and reporting on defect status and resolution
- Metrics compilation and reporting
- Development and documentation of processes and staffing requirements for defect triage/business analysis
- Partner with peers and management team to continuously improve testing methods, processes, techniques and use of manual testing tools
Experience should include: - Leading a large group of testers, ideally user acceptance testers
- Working with a comprehensive test management tool
- Business focus while possessing an understanding of testing from multiple perspectives such as System test, role-based security, technical environments, and performance
- Preparation/review of testing reports
- Proficiency at managing multiple efforts simultaneously, in an environment with ambiguity
- High degree of initiative and autonomy with the ability to function successfully as part of a team

Minimum Technical Experience |
- At least seven (7) years of experience within the last ten (10) years working as a Test Analyst with large organizations, leading or participating in the technical implementation of software/systems/applications automating complex business processes, performing the following:
- Assessment of analysis scope and tasks
- Planning business analysis tasks
- Elicitation, definitions and documentation of various business, user, and system requirements
- Leading and working within cross-functional teams that include business subject matter experts, application architects, developers, and testers
- Experience preparing test plans, test cases and documenting test results
- Experience regression testing and adjusting test plans for periodic maintenance releases
- At least seven (7) years of experience within the last ten (10) years producing business analysis and testing deliverables such as: (CalSTRS may request deliverable related work samples during the Interview phase).

- Test strategies

- Traceability matrices
- At least three (3) years of experience using Test Application Lifecycle Management tools such as HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Rational Requisite Pro, or Jama to document functional and non-functional requirements, design specifications, test cases and defects, and provide full traceability for projects.

Desirable Technical Qualifications |
- Experience as a Test Analyst at a State or Federal agency.
- Experience as a Test Analyst leading or participating in the technical implementation of pension/retirement-related software development projects.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related fields from an accredited or government-sanctioned college/university. CalSTRS reserves the right to request a copy of the degree.
- Pension knowledge.
- The proposed project person will be able to adhere to the hybrid working model by working on-site 2-3 days per week at CalSTRS Headquarters, West Sacramento, CA. If no, provide a short explanation. (no points).

Role and Responsibilities |
The Senior Test Analyst is expected to perform the following tasks and produce the following deliverables: - Support Test Activities The Test Analyst shall perform the following including, but not limited to:
- Participate as an active member of the test team to ensure the solution is delivered and tested properly
- Perform quality reviews of test cases to ensure adherence to guidelines
- Serve as a Test Coordinator and support Risk-based testing and management of the test schedule
- Facilitate meetings as needed
- Document defects, Problem Incident Reports (PIRs), and assist with Jama test case plan population
- Monitor defects, participate in daily triage meetings, report status to management, and communicate information related to releases to stakeholders in a timely manner
- Perform or support regression test activities during periodic maintenance releases
- Resolve issues by using strong analytical and technical skills to address a variety of system related problems
- Identify and clarify requirements using basic conceptual and logical process and data modeling tools and techniques
- Discuss proposed solutions with customers in a proactive/consultative fashion.
