Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to support the operations and maintenance of a cutting-edge research and development ground system. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing complex IT environments, ensuring system stability, and implementing necessary updates and patches. This role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance to meet the rigorous demands of R&D activities. Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to maintaining security and efficiency are essential. What you'll do:

Provide support in the installation, implementation, operation, maintenance and security of Microsoft Windows servers, Linux RedHat servers, and COTS applications.
Support Microsoft systems (desktops, Remote Desktop Services, servers, SCCM/MECM, Active Directory Domain Controllers) hosted on both virtual and bare metal hardware.
Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in production.
Monitor and optimize system performance.
Independently work with internal and external stakeholders, including the end user community, for diagnosing system issues.
Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in development, test and production environments.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Associates degree and six (6+) years of relevant experience; OR Bachelors degree with two (2+) years of relevant experience; Four (4) additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor s degree.
This position requires an active TS/SCI with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
Active CompTIA Security+ certification
Demonstrated experience supporting users in a help desk environment both locally and remotely with enterprise service desk applications.
Working knowledge of network standards/protocols/security, hardware, and application virtualization.
Working knowledge of local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including bandwidth management.
Hands-on experience with network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, servers, transmission media, and related hardware.
Hands-on experience with network systems design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance concepts and methods.
Desired qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
Experience with best practices, concepts and procedures for networking in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities with varying levels of classification
CCNA, CCNP or CISSP
Familiarity with Palantir products (Foundry, Apollo).
You have 1+ years of experience working with Splunk.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
