The EH&S Director will play an intricate role in overseeing and supporting environmental regulatory guidance, environmental compliance, regulatory plan development and training, environmental reporting, and occupational safety and health program management. This position is with a global pharmaceutical organization that has been in business for over 20 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide regulatory guidance for new product introductions into the facility.
  • Assess new air emissions from processes to ensure compliance with facility air permits.
  • Identify hazardous waste disposal options for new product-related waste under RCRA regulations.
  • Manage facility compliance with air pollution control permits, including: Adherence to Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) programs, monthly air emissions tracking and hazardous air pollutants reporting, and submissions to state regulatory agencies for new product or process emissions.
  • Oversee the RCRA hazardous waste program, including waste characterization, on-site accumulation, and off-site disposal.
  • Manage Clean Water Act compliance
  • Ensuring wastewater pre-treatment permits comply with the town of West Warwick Sewer Commission.
  • Overseeing approvals for new wastewater processes and reporting test results.
  • Develop, implement, and provide training on regulatory plans such as.
  • Complete and submit required annual and biennial environmental reports.
  • Manage the site's safety and health programs, including: Safe to Work Permit program, industrial hygiene, safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, employee health and safety programs such as medical surveillance and respiratory protection
  • Oversee regulatory records and reporting for safety and health programs

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in environmental, safety, health, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in Environmental, Safety, and Health, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR Part 1910 and 1926).
  • Experience in environmental programs.
