We are seeking an experienced Calibration Technician to join our Tescom team, an Aldinger company.

As a Calibration Technician, you will work independently to calibrate various equipment across differing fields and environments.

The ideal candidate has experience with physical/dimensional calibration in a wide range of equipment as our well-equipped laboratory covers calibrations in many disciplines. These include a wide variety of physical/dimensional instruments such as calipers, micrometers, torque instruments and transducers, pressure gauges, scales and analytical balances, thread/plug/pin gauges, pH meters, humidity instruments, labmaster measuring system, airflow meters, and many others.

We service a wide variety of Central Texas customers across many industries, which requires a broad cross-section of skills.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties in accordance with Z540.1 and ISO 17025:2017, and approved internal operational and quality assurance procedures.
  • Complete accurate and timely calibrations in lab.
  • Conduct performance acceptance evaluation of new equipment and assure audit capability through completion and retention of all appropriate records.
  • Perform calibration, performance checks, and repair and maintenance on a wide variety of instruments in accordance with established procedures and standards.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair laboratory calibration standards
  • Handle all equipment according to the manufacturer's recommendations and good handling practices.
  • Ensure the M&TE and standards are calibrated prior to use.
  • Continually review all work processes, calibration and test results for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work directly with clients with effective communication to provide client updates and answer customer questions.
  • Ensure all calibration complies with test and operation procedures and with industry regulations and quality standards.
  • Ensure that all calibration and tests are conducted safely and in compliance with established safety standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate calibration records and documentation, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.


Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • One of the following:
    • Completed formal calibration training in Physical/Dimensional disciplines or equivalent experience.
    • Military PMEL Training and Certification
    • Associate's Degree in a Technical Field
  • 3+ years of experience in calibrating a variety of Physical/Dimensional instruments
  • Experience performing calibrations in a commercial, ISO17025-accredited laboratory
  • Technical understanding and advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Physical, and/or Mechanical Calibration of equipment
  • Experience processing calibration documentation
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Able to lift 50lbs, climb, kneel, drive and stand for long periods of time
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
