Alabama Public Television (APT) is seeking a full-time Television Technician to assist in our transmitter equipment operations area. The current position opening is in Birmingham, AL. APT operates 9 transmitter sites with 18 transmitters, over 2200 miles of two-way digital microwave, and a satellite distribution network.
DUTIES: This position will be utilizing computer and technical skills to assist in the operations and maintenance of electronic television production and broadcasting equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring the network operations, recording satellite feeds, playing back programming and breaks, and monitoring APT s transmission equipment, and providing testing and maintenance of various equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from a junior college or a technical school OR a high school diploma or GED PLUS two (2) years of experience performing technical work at a commercial television station.
