Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Action Officer to provide operational support to a senior Navy Customer. The ideal candidate will have a background in consulting and understanding of complex initiatives, stakeholders, and vendor coordination in the IT modernization space. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating effective communication, optimizing schedule management, and enhancing the overall strategic impact of our team. Utilize your engineering/technical background to understand complex technical tradeoffs and evaluate the programmatic and budgetary implications. Support the client with action, risk, schedule tracking, while recommending priorities and actions.

Responsibilities

  • Task Management: Coordinate and oversee the execution of assigned tasks from senior leadership, ensuring that deadlines are met, objectives are achieved, and issues are resolved.
  • Project Coordination: Track and monitor progress on various initiatives, report on status, identify roadblocks, and suggest course corrections.
  • Information Management: Compile, analyze, and disseminate data and reports to stakeholders, ensuring that accurate and timely information is provided for decision-making.
  • Liaison: Serve as the point of contact between senior leadership, internal teams, and external partners. Foster clear communication and collaboration across functional areas.
  • Meeting Support: Schedule, prepare for, and attend meetings, briefings, and other engagements. Take notes, generate after-action reports, and follow up on deliverables and action items.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure the effective execution of policies, directives, and plans in alignment with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Problem Solving: Provide analytical support to identify issues and recommend solutions or alternative courses of action.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Provide flexible support to senior leadership by handling urgent or short-term assignments and requests, adapting to dynamic priorities.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role, with a background in consulting highly desirable.
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software, with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
    • Experience working within the government or for a government contractor in a strategic role is highly desirable.

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Arlington, Virginia - Onsite

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
