Job Description

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Construction General Laborer in the Piedmont, SC. Our client is a Construction Company that requires the ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities Of a Construction General Laborer Includes

• Assist with loading and unloading concrete mixers.
• Direct concrete into forms using discharge chute, and spread it with rake or shovel.
• Clean ditches, remove concrete forms, and perform general manual labor.
• Support skilled workers by following instructions and assisting with formwork erection and removal.
• Carry and clean materials, shovel or rake as needed.
• Adhere to safety policies and pass trench safety test.
• Build wooden structures, including stairs, scaffolds, and concrete forms.
• Load and transport materials to the work site.
• Prepare and verify form layouts using tools like transit, plumb bob, square, and level.
• Use carpentry hand and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches.
• Construct and brace concrete forms, lay sub-flooring, and build trestles and cofferdams.
• Erect scaffolding, install ladders, handrails, and platforms.
• Assemble and align forms, fit pre-fabricated window frames, doors, and trim.
• Nail sheathing, set anchor bolts, and perform minor maintenance.
• Operate electric and pneumatic tools.
• Maintain a clean job site and adhere to safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as needed.
  
  

REQUIRED Experience And Education

• Must pass drug/chemical screening.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Familiar with construction methods.
• Provide some of their own hand tools (Hammer, tape measure, ect- (Powered tools not required)
• Willing to travel up to 250 miles.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Ability to read a tape measure and apply construction math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics).
