Cybersecurity Manager

This company is seeking an Experienced Cybersecurity Manager specializing in Red Team and Security Engineering to join their team on-site at their Reston, VA headquarters.

The company is located in Reston, VA and will be 5 days on site.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Develop and lead an information security Red Team program, including hiring and training staff, conducting simulated cyberattacks, and reporting findings and recommendations to senior IT leadership (CIO, CISO).
  • Ensure that critical security controls are well-documented and periodically assessed for effectiveness.
  • Serve as a cybersecurity representative in key technology governance processes.
  • Lead the cybersecurity engineering team in collaboration with IT and business leaders to integrate security considerations into the evaluation, selection, installation, and configuration of IT solutions.
  • Oversee daily operations in threat and vulnerability management, define risk thresholds, propose risk mitigation plans, and communicate residual risks effectively.
  • Manage a team of information security professionals, including recruitment, training, and development of new staff members.
  • Create management reports detailing departmental activities, progress on tasks, and key performance metrics.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Over 7 years of IT experience.
  • At least 5 years in an Information Security or Red Team role.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong understanding of information risk concepts and the ability to translate business needs into effective security measures; deep knowledge of information security standards, protocols, best practices, and strategies.
  • Extensive experience managing technical teams directly.
  • Proven ability to define and implement effective technical security solutions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks based on risk levels.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly autonomous.
  • Adept at building relationships and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience; an M.B.A. or M.S. in Information Security is preferred.
