Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle WebLogic Server Administrator Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Oracle WebLogic Server environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in WebLogic Server administration, Linux and Windows operating system administration, and Oracle databases, with a focus on ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Configuration:
    • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server across various environments (development, testing, production).
    • Set up and configure domains, managed servers, clusters, and JDBC resources.
  • Server Administration:
    • Manage WebLogic instances, including starting, stopping, monitoring, and managing resources and services.
    • Deploy applications and maintain the WebLogic environment in line with industry best practices.
    • Monitor and tune WebLogic performance, including JVM performance, thread monitoring, and connection pool management.
  • Security Management:
    • Configure security settings, including SSL/TLS, authentication, authorization, and identity management.
    • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices for WebLogic Server environments.
    • Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply necessary security patches.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:
    • Diagnose and resolve issues related to WebLogic Server, including performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and server crashes.
    • Provide advanced support for application deployment and maintenance, working closely with developers and IT teams.
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions for high-availability issues and disaster recovery planning.
  • Middleware Integration:
    • Work with other middleware components like Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus (OSB), and other Oracle Fusion Middleware products.
    • Collaborate with database administrators to ensure seamless integration between WebLogic and Oracle databases.
  • Automation & Scripting:
    • Develop scripts for automating routine tasks, backups, and monitoring using WLST (WebLogic Scripting Tool), Shell, and other scripting languages.
    • Leverage automation tools and frameworks to streamline server administration and application deployment processes.
  • Patch Management & Upgrades:
    • Plan and execute WebLogic Server patches, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule and implement regular maintenance tasks and software updates.
  • Monitoring & Reporting:
    • Set up monitoring tools (such as Oracle Enterprise Manager or third-party solutions) to track system performance, resource utilization, and service uptime.
    • Create and maintain documentation for WebLogic environments, configurations, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an Oracle WebLogic Administrator, with at least 10+ years of hands-on expertise in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle WebLogic Server architecture, clustering, and load balancing.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware products (e.g., SOA Suite, OSB) is preferred.
  • Expertise in managing WebLogic versions 12c/14c and Oracle Database 12c/19c.
  • Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Shell, WLST, Python).
  • Knowledge of security best practices and SSL/TLS configuration.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager, monitoring tools, and performance tuning techniques.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) in Oracle WebLogic Server or related Oracle technologies.
