Job Description

Oversees and coordinates activities within the assigned SBA department, ensuring high-quality service and effective support for both internal and external customers. Achieves results by managing a diverse team of staff, from entry-level to exempt professionals. Enforces corporate policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Conducts underwriting reviews to mitigate the bank's risk and employs problem-solving techniques in loan approvals. Provides comprehensive support and training to all staff, including guidance on underwriting guidelines.

1. Contribute to strategic decisions impacting the SBA platforms and programs.

2. Support the growth of the SBA portfolio in accordance with the Business Banking Groups objective and financial goals.

3. Develop and implement strategies for sales, processes, pricing and credit to enhance SBA portfolio.

4. Oversee the SBA process, focusing on underwriting, loan closing and monitoring loan covenants

5. Generate new SBA lending opportunities while fostering full banking relationships aligned with the bank s pricing strategies

6. Ensures all SBA eligibility, regulations and underwriting guidelines are followed in accordance with the SBA SOP 51 10 (K)

7. Assists relationship managers to prepare the proper documentation for SBA loans

8. Conducts initial review of incoming loan packages by determining creditworthiness and compliance with SBA guidelines

9. Conducts quarterly client visits with the existing SBA portfolio clients; consistently evaluates the portfolio for a potential attrition and credit risk.
