Job Description
ATX Solar is looking for a full-time crew lead to join our installation department and grow with us. This is a unique chance to jump in on the ground floor and have your voice heard. This is a dynamic position with unmatched potential and upward mobility as we grow.
Minimum 2 years solar installation experience.
The crew lead will oversee the completion of the racking, microinverter, and panel installation. Secondary roles will include: Customer interactions, safety enforcement, being responsible for quality of all work performed, and overall customer satisfaction pertaining to workmanship. You can expect to direct work, ensure all mechanical specifications are followed for solar electric installations relating to array layouts, array racking and module installation, either roof or ground-mounted.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the installation of systems that interconnect solar arrays to the grid of our customers residential properties
- Oversee and perform installation of racking, modules, inverters, combiner boxes, grounding, disconnects, and wall work.
- Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local amendments.
- Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
- Work with the lead electrician to ensure timely completion of installations.
- Assist with completion of installation reports and commissioning reports, as needed.
- Perform system commissioning and function check
- Transport solar installation materials from warehouse to job-sites
- Commission and Provision Solar Installations
- A moderate understanding of NEC codes
- Ability to read and understand blueprints / plan sets
- Be able to create String Maps
- Ability to work in extreme environments (sun, cold, crawl spaces, attics)
- Ability to work on rooftops, climb ladders and stairs
- Capable of performing repetitious duties, including lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time
- Basic computer & smart phone skills required
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to manage a crew of 2-4 team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Residential Wiremen license preferred
- Understanding of the NEC as it relates to the installation of solar electric systems
- Competence in design of PV systems including electrical wire sizing, conduit sizing, installation methods, conduit bending, etc.
- Ability to produce timely installations coupled with successful inspection results
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- OSHA 10 hour (preferred)
- NABCEP certification (preferred)

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 50 per week
