This internship is approximately from May - December 2025.
The Division of Engineering is looking for an intern to assist our full-time project managers. The position offers a wide range of job responsibilities, including: help implement improved portfolio management processes; assist project managers in developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets; interview stakeholders and draft project requirements; draft product documentation (technical writing); gather project metrics needed to track progress toward strategic goals; assist with creating alignment on best practices; and create custom reports that describe the project portfolio and that help management make strategic decisions.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; have strong technical writing skills and be able to author technical documents; work independently; have experience in project development; have proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Office, SharePoint, Teams, and Excel to manage data and create reports; and have a desire to learn about medical device development.
The candidate will be introduced to the processes and documentation requirements of medical device development; gain experience conducting stakeholder interviews to elicit needs and requirements; lead meetings to gather content for product support documentation, verification, and validation; gain project hours that would provide experience needed for pursuing the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Qualifications
The incumbent must be enrolled in an engineering, management information systems, or other technology-related degree program from an accredited college or university and have completed a minimum of four semesters - or the equivalent - of instruction toward their degree.
