The CSIM SMA Operations & Trade Support Team is responsible for providing focused support to Portfolio Managers and Traders for daily trade order generation, tax loss harvesting and account maintenance on behalf of Schwab's separately managed account (SMA) products. In addition, the team is responsible for several strategic, multi-year projects, cross-functional reporting, as well as ad-hoc operational strategy support to other teams within the larger organization. Key Responsibilities for this role include:

The Manager will play a key role in supporting the operations of our separately managed account strategies. This may include client account maintenance, account reconciliation, and trade order generation activities on our managed account platform. The Manager will:
  • Partner with a large, geographically dispersed team to create team connectedness and promote an atmosphere of growth, development, and openness to new ideas and diverse points of view.
  • Effectively and accurately assess, process, and manage all client account maintenance requests.
  • Support account management and oversight by performing daily/weekly/monthly reviews for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all core responsibilities.
  • Liaise with business partners across functional teams throughout SAM and Schwab with a focus on producing a positive client experience.
  • Gain proficiency/expertise with systems and internal tools utilized for the processing and oversight of all client account requests.
  • Contribute to product and efficiency initiatives by providing business insight, participation in project calls, collaboration with internal departments, and supporting all respective testing efforts to advance our best-in-class operational environment.
  • Actively identify opportunities and areas of efficiencies; help design and implement solutions.
  • Assist with ensuring adequate documentation around process and procedures, including desktop procedures, job aides, and checklists.
  • Troubleshoot, report, and escalate any issues related to our managed account platform ensuring timely processing and mitigation of trading errors or delays.
  • Assist in the review, maintenance, and reconciliation of all client restrictions.


What you have

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of financial service experience
  • 2+ years of experience with managed accounts
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Abillity to start work at 7:30am EST

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong communication , teamwork, and cross-functional relationship building skills
  • Independent judgement with strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft products; Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications
  • Knowledge of the VestmarkONE managed account platform preferred

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
