Digital Payload System Engineer

Summary: Seeking a Digital Payload Systems Engineer with extensive experience in digital communication equipment, signal processing, and satellite systems for architecture design and optimization.

Job Requirements:

• BS degree required

• 15+ years of experience in digital communication equipment, signal processing, and networking (MPLS routing protocols & Class of Service, DVB RC/S)

• Knowledge of 5G NTN, RF, and system payload design

• Familiarity with Phased Array Antennas, Beam forming (analog or digital), Beam hoping

• Proficiency in simulation tools (Matlab & Simulink, UML, Pathwave) and operating systems (Linux)

• Experience with software development using Agile methodology

• Understanding of SDR (Software Defined Radio) architectures and operations

• Previous design and test experience with LEO/MEO satellites and payload sub-systems

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to pass a drug and background check (ITAR compliance)

Job Responsibilities:

• Design Communication Satellite digital Payloads with transparent or regenerative processors

• Lead system requirements definition flowdown and subsystem specifications for RF, Digital, and optical payload units

• Perform requirement analysis, budgets, system trade studies; lead link and performance budget calculations; evaluate satellite throughput

• Supervise the generation of Test Plans and Test methods for Satellite Systems Integration, Verification, and Validation

• Lead Design Reviews over the full Space Programs Life Cycle

Pay: 50-80

Pay Details: $50.00 to $80.00 per hour
