Job Title: Director of Worldwide Procurement - Food

Department: Procurement

Reports to: Head of Procurement Worldwide

Location: REMOTE (can live anywhere)

Compensation: $180,000 - $200,000 plus 25% Bonus opportunity

Position Summary: The Director of Worldwide Procurement - Food will lead the strategic sourcing and supply chain management for food products across all global operations. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in food procurement, vendor management, and global supply chain logistics. The individual will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, ensuring cost efficiency, and driving supplier partnerships that support the company s sustainability and quality objectives. The Director will lead a team of 5 direct reports as part of a 20+ person procurement group.

The ideal candidate must be a strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves and act as a "doer", executing key initiatives and driving results.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have corporate dining services procurement experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in food procurement and supply chain management
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role with a national and ideally global/ multinational company
  • Must have experience in procurement across the U.S. (beyond regional), as well as internationally.
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership and C-suite executives is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement global procurement strategies for food products that align with company goals, focusing on cost management, quality, and sustainability.
  • Vendor Management: Identify, negotiate, and establish strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality product availability, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 5 procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with overall departmental and company goals.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Oversee global supply chain logistics, including inventory management, distribution, and transportation, to ensure product availability and minimize disruptions.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Drive sustainability efforts in the supply chain, ensuring that suppliers adhere to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
  • Budget Management: Manage the procurement budget, monitoring and reporting on cost-saving initiatives and financial performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, culinary teams, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure procurement strategies align with business needs.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor global food market trends, commodity price fluctuations, and regulatory changes to proactively adjust procurement strategies.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions and ensure business continuity.
  • Executive Engagement: Work directly with senior leadership and C-suite executives to align procurement strategies with overall corporate objectives and present key initiatives, performance metrics, and strategic plans.
  • Hands-On Execution: Actively engage in the execution of procurement plans, managing day-to-day operations, supplier negotiations, and issue resolution as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in food procurement and supply chain management, 5+ years in a senior leadership role with a national and ideally global/ multinational company.
  • Must have corporate dining services procurement experience.
  • Must have experience in procurement across the U.S. (not just regional) as well as internationally.
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership and C-suite executives is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the food and beverage industry, including supply chain logistics, regulatory compliance, and market dynamics.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in procurement and supply chain software. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. Strategic thinking with a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset.
