Business Analyst
Location: Needs to be located SC/NC- the office is in Ft. Mill. Will be asked to go on-site 3 days a week and travel to Dublin, CA once a month.
Duration: 6 months
Rate: $45/hr W2
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Business Analyst is an experienced IT functional systems analyst and consultant working to improve business capabilities by facilitating the implementation of process and system improvements.
They will work in a highly collaborative setting of internal and external staff, and with key business partners in the support of existing production systems and in the execution of new system projects.
Serves as a functional expert in Supply Chain Systems and applications including Material Handling Equipment (MHE) / Warehouse Control Systems (WCS).
Works closely with the business stakeholders to identify system needs, and provides guidance and influence throughout the process from concept to implementation.
Document requirements and assume responsibility for obtaining sign-off from customers and business partners on moderate to highly complex projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performing business analysis activities at the strategic, operational, and organizational levels; working with key users in the continual improvement of business processes
Highlight/identify gaps in existing functionality and review requirements with stakeholders on moderate to highly complex projects.
Collaborating on project efforts in the support of existing systems, processes, services and/or in the execution of new projects, including:
Capturing Business User Stories and Requirements
Providing analytical support to maximize product performance by understanding system capabilities,user needs, and user experience.
Creating detailed Functional Designs for technical counterparts
Creating and executing test plans, including capturing and working through solutions to defects
Develop user documentation for newly created processes and system enhancements
Project timelines are communicated to the Project Managers and are completed on time
Uses logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF SUPPLY CHAIN SYSTEMS
- Visio experience required
- Jira- need to be familiar
- Confluence need to be familiar
Graduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience
7+ years of experience supporting IT systems, processes or capabilities. General understanding of IT processes and dynamics within a complex, highly integrated environment
A solid understanding of industry best practices in retail or IT; specific demonstrated experience mapping business processes and comparing those processes to industry best practices
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills
Understanding of application development and software development lifecycle concepts
Good written and verbal communication skills are crucial for working with all stakeholders (i.e. Use Case and User Story Development)
Preferred experience with Agile and Waterfall approaches
