Job Description
This role is office/hybrid, based out of our Bardstown, Kentucky Bottling Plant.
What the Role Is
The Engineering Project Manager will provide leadership, project management, and engineering support to distilling operations, bottling operations, and the expansion of Heaven Hill facilities, with specific expertise in electrical/controls systems and power distribution This position will collaborate across all levels of the organization on needs and priorities to support existing operations and growth, with an emphasis on high quality products, employee involvement, continuous improvement, and profitability.
The Engineering Projects Manager will work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering teams to support new and improved processes. This position will support multiple Heaven Hill sites across Kentucky, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York and Canada.
How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Responsible for the successful implementation of capital projects through effective collaboration and buy-in from all stakeholders including leaders, peers, team members, internal/external customers
- Collaborate with various sites to deliver capital projects on time, on budget, and safely
- Ensure project compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Project Manager/Engineer for strategic and cost improvement projects including Processing, Bottling/Packaging Lines, Controls and Automation, New Facilities and Infrastructure upgrades
- Interpret, and properly apply related Engineering codes and standards to capital projects as required
- Function as Subject Matter Expert for Engineering, Project Management, and Controls/Automation processes
- Offer recommendations to system and equipment designs to increase productivity, reliability, sustainability, and reduce cost
- Plan and recommend capital equipment purchases to support and improve manufacturing processes, and completes financial analysis for such recommendations
- Monitor implementation of capital projects to ensure that standards and expectations for each objective are completed as planned
- Consults with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status
Who You Are
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree
- Minimum ten (10) years experience in engineering project management, preferably in distilled spirits industry
- Experience with projects from conception to completion with emphasis on safety, ROI, project sustainment.
- Proficient computer skills with experience utilizing computer aided design software, industrial control software, and project management software
- Hands-on experience in Project Management, Engineering Design, Construction Management, and Plant Operations to include distillation and bottling operations
- Electrical, controls, PLC and power distribution knowledge with the ability to read schematics, ladder logic and single line diagrams.
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance with the ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
- Critical thinking by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Ability to interpret and apply written procedures and standards governing manufacturing processes
- Must be highly analytical and possess excellent problem-solving skills, sound decision making skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Smartsheet and Microsoft Project
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be a highly motivated and self-directed individual
- Ability to travel to various Heaven Hill manufacturing sites
Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:
- Master s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
- Advanced proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
- Knowledge and application of IT/OT network applications for data collection.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt
Physical Requirements
While performing duties of job, employee is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Must be able to occasionally lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in an office, warehouse, and manufacturing environment.
