Job Summary
The MADE Hoops Event Director for Girls Basketball is responsible for driving the recruitment, registration, and overall success of MADE Hoops Girls events, including middle and high school camps, circuits, and tournaments. This role requires a strategic and proactive individual who can lead outreach initiatives across multiple channels, including phone sales, social media, email marketing, and face-to-face recruitment, to secure teams and individual participants to achieve sell-out goals. This position also requires exceptional organizational skills, communication proficiency, and familiarity with digital marketing techniques, especially email and social media.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Event Recruitment and Marketing
- Lead recruitment initiatives for all MADE Hoops Girls Basketball events, utilizing phone outreach, email marketing, direct mail campaigns, and social media.
- Create and implement targeted recruitment strategies that maximize event participation from players and teams across the country.
- Build strong relationships with teams, coaches, and players through outreach and in-person interaction.
Database and Scouting Management
- Oversee and update MADE Hoops’ database of players and prospects, particularly for scouting services and player evaluations.
- Work closely with the scouting team to ensure up-to-date insights on emerging talent, contributing to event rosters, player profiles, and reports.
Event Attendance and Content Contribution
- Attend and cover MADE Hoops events to develop relationships and produce written content, including pre-event promotions, live-event updates, and post-event recaps.
- Create standout and recap articles, scouting reports, and social media posts to highlight key participants and showcase event success.
- Build and execute a content plan that enhances player exposure and event visibility.
Event Execution and Participant Management
- Support event logistics, including managing registration, organizing drill station groups and teams based on talent, and coordinating tournament pools and brackets.
- Contribute to the overall planning and execution of events, ensuring participant satisfaction and successful outcomes.
- Ensure that event participant goals and revenue targets are consistently met or exceeded.
Marketing Campaign Development
- Develop email and direct mail campaign strategies to drive event awareness and maximize participation.
- Utilize social media to highlight upcoming events, player achievements, and event content, building engagement across digital platforms.
Relationship Building
- Actively engage and maintain relationships across the grassroots basketball community, including players, coaches, and scouts, to strengthen MADE Hoops’ presence and drive future registrations.
- Attend key middle and high school basketball events to identify emerging prospects, connect with talent, and promote MADE Hoops events.
Qualifications and Skills

- Interpersonal Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to engage and build relationships.
- Organization and Multitasking: Highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Relationship Management: Strong relationship-building skills with a passion for connecting with stakeholders across the grassroots basketball community to drive engagement.
- Tech Proficiency: Skilled in using Google Docs, Google Sheets, Monday.com, Exposure Events, and other event management tools.
- Conflict Resolution: Confident in handling conflicts amicably and professionally with coworkers, parents, players, officials, etc.
- Direction and Delegation: Able to follow through on tasks as directed, as well as implement guidance from management independently.
- Proactivity: Anticipates event needs, takes initiative, and follows through on actions and communications without constant oversight.
- Accountability: Self-motivated, with a strong ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
- Event Management: Experience running tournaments with at least 75 teams, including multi-site events, is highly preferred.
- Regional Connections: Established relationships within the local basketball community (city/state/region) are advantageous.
