The Associate UX/UI Designer is an exciting entry-level position on the UX/UI Design team with a growing company in the health-tech sector. They will craft designs and experiences for one or more cross-functional product teams while collaborating with fellow designers to ensure consistency across other products.

They stay up-to-date with best practices within the UI/UX realm, offer valuable and thoughtful solutions to user pain points, and continuously add value to the design team, their product team, and the organization. They contribute to all phases of the design process, including research and prototyping, design execution, and documentation. This is a remote role, working with an in-house design team that is headquartered in New York City, New York.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a contributing UX/UI designer for one or more product teams, where you will learn in detail about complex product areas.
  • Work in relation to 2-week scrum cycles to quickly deliver iterative UX/UI improvements and explore new features that meet user and business requirements.
  • Work with product managers, developers, and other cross-functional teammates to understand and define product requirements and functional limitations, define user and feature goals, and explore new user experiences.
  • Collaborate with other designers to create familiar and consistent experiences across different products.
  • Advocate for your users in order to reduce friction and challenges in their workflows.
  • Delight users with a modern SaaS product that is efficient, learnable, and thoughtfully interconnected.
  • Contribute to all phases of the in-flight design process from research and prototyping to design execution and documentation; share this process with the design team to facilitate further learning and consistency across products.
  • Contribute to user testing and persona development, workflow mapping, and other research artifacts as applicable.
  • Coordinate with developers to ensure designs and experiences are built as intended.
  • Contribute to the in-house Design System component library and usage handbook.
  • Follow proficient file organization and naming conventions outlined by leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in a UI/UX or Product Designer role
  • Working knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch or other UX/UI design tools – is willing to work exclusively in Figma in this role
  • Basic user research knowledge: user interviews, ideation, usability testing
  • A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Front-End frameworks
  • An understanding of the core concepts of driving design solutions from concept to delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to or experience with Pharmacy Benefits, Medical Claims, or Health Insurance companies
  • Exposure to or experience with Enterprise software, SaaS, or other complex/technical design work
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Intellectual and professional curiosity
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Strong attention to detail, best practices, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage your time and prioritize work across different product teams and the design team
  • A desire to share work throughout your process with the design team, giving and receiving thoughtful feedback regularly, and contributing to team decision-making and collaboration
