Job Summary:

The Regional Training Director is responsible for leading the training and development initiatives across multiple restaurant locations within a designated region. This role focuses on creating and implementing training programs that enhance employee performance, ensure consistency in brand standards, and foster a culture of continuous learning. The Regional Training Director will work closely with operations leaders, restaurant managers, and corporate teams to support the onboarding, development, and retention of high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Program Development & Implementation:

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve training programs for front-line employees, restaurant managers, and multi-unit leaders.
  • Standardize training materials and programs to ensure consistent execution across all restaurant locations in the region.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring they receive comprehensive, brand-aligned training.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Identify and cultivate leadership talent through targeted development programs for restaurant managers and future leaders.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars, and hands-on training sessions for management teams focused on leadership, team building, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and coach managers on training best practices, employee development, and performance improvement.

Operational Excellence:

  • Work with restaurant managers to ensure that operational standards (food safety, cleanliness, guest experience) are consistently met and that training is aligned with these expectations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through site visits, performance metrics, and direct feedback from restaurant teams.
  • Identify gaps in skills or knowledge and provide tailored solutions to improve individual and team performance.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with operations, HR, and marketing teams to align training programs with company goals and initiatives.
  • Provide input and feedback on product rollouts, new procedures, and operational changes to ensure proper training materials are in place.
  • Partner with the corporate Learning & Development team to adapt national programs to regional needs.
  • Performance Management & Reporting:
  • Track training completion, performance outcomes, and employee development within the region, providing regular reports to senior leadership.
  • Develop metrics to assess the impact of training on operational performance, employee engagement, and guest satisfaction.
  • Support managers in identifying high-potential employees and creating individual development plans to support their career growth.
  • Compliance & Certification:
  • Ensure all employees are trained and certified according to company and regulatory standards (food safety, health regulations, etc.).
  • Maintain up-to-date records of employee training and certifications, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Regularly audit training records and processes to ensure consistency and effectiveness across the region.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in training and development, preferably within the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
  • Proven success in multi-unit training management, with experience in fast casual or quick service restaurants being a plus.
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing large-scale training programs.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and inspire teams through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze training needs and design programs that address specific business challenges.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Hospitality, or a related field. Advanced certifications in Training & Development or Hospitality Management are preferred.
